Cowes Week 2010 is here! Kicking off today, 31stJuly and ending on 7thAugust, this is the largest sailing event of its kind in the world.

Here’s a taster of what you’ll see on the water if you make it over to the island.

31stJuly – 5thAugust.  The Extreme Sailing Series.

Taking place from 3pm on the first three days of racing and thereafter 5pm, these powerful Extreme 40’s will try to out gun each other in a series of sprint races.  It makes for fantastic viewing and obviously the nearer you are to the action the better.

3rdAugust – 6thAugust.  The 1851 Cup.

TEAMORIGIN, our own America’s Cup team have invited the current America’s Cup holders, BMW Oracle for a spot of match racing.  Oracle are finishing up some business in Valencia and then making their way to Cowes for the first day of racing on 3rdAugust which is due to take place towards the latter part of the afternoon.  Thursday sees the teams going head to head around the island clockwise over the historic original course of the Americas Cup in 1851 which is going to be awesome and with some of the world’s greatest sailors competing, including gold medal winning Ben Ainslie at the helm, one not to miss. http://teamorigin.com/en/
